At NewCampus, a global modern business school for working professionals, I worked across community, product, and culture roles to design and tell the story of the learner experience. My work sat at the intersection of community building, content strategy, and user experience.

Responsibilities

I designed onboarding journeys and member communications, managed the learner community, and translated insights from user research into product and programme improvements.

Alongside this, I built the editorial backbone for community storytelling—producing alumni interviews, testimonials, and newsletters that highlighted the journeys of our members and strengthened the sense of community.

Much of my work involved turning everyday interactions with learners into meaningful narratives and content, while also designing systems (onboarding guides, internal handbooks, communication workflows) that helped the community scale.

Designing the onboarding experience

At NewCampus, the first experience a learner had with the community was onboarding—so I focused on making it clear, welcoming, and frictionless.

I redesigned our onboarding flow and produced onboarding guides to help new members quickly understand how to get the most out of the platform. This included structuring information, designing communications across multiple touchpoints (pre-onboarding emails, onboarding calls, and follow-ups), and creating documentation that could scale as membership grew.

Community storytelling

A big part of my role was turning the experiences of our learners into stories that strengthened the community.

I interviewed members, collected testimonials, and built systems to track and organise community stories. These stories were used across marketing and sales materials to highlight the journeys of people in the network.

I also led editorial strategy for community communications—including alumni bulletins and newsletters—helping transform insights from our community into content that informed, celebrated, and connected members across geographies.

Through this work, storytelling became a way to reinforce the culture of NewCampus: learning from each other, sharing experiences, and building relationships beyond individual programmes.

Building culture through documentation

Later in my time at NewCampus, I moved into a Culture Lead role where I focused on shaping the internal experience of our globally distributed team.

One of my main projects was producing the team handbook—a living document that captured how we worked, our values, and practical guidance for collaborating across time zones and functions. The handbook served as both an onboarding resource for new hires and a cultural artefact that reinforced how we operate as a team.

Alongside this, I curated internal communications and helped design workflows that improved clarity and collaboration across the organisation.
